Chapter 2 - Change Of Mind
The three were walking though a corridor, in front of dozens of door, each one with a number in them, some even decorated. They finally reached the first floor were there was some sort of hall which had a lot of armchairs, all of them separated by a table, there was a man guarding the door. ''Going out at this time?'' said the man politely.
''Yes we are, my friend is feeling a little bad, so we think he needs a bit of fresh air'' replied Naitmer in the same way as the man. ''Oh, really? sorry to hear that Cristian, his face looks a bit pale'' said the man glancing at Cristian '' C'mon boy! cheer up a bit, it's not like life is over!''. Raven and Naitmer giggled as they opened the door to the outside.
''Uhhh... what time is it?'' asked Cristian, he just realized it looked a little late. ''It's 11:00 pm, you might want to know that today is Tuesday'' replied Raven. ''Tuesday? I've been asleep for two days?!'' said Cristian. ''Yes, you've been, I've been watching you since you died, Ethan arrived just some hours after I embraced you, you looked so cute lying there, not moving at all'' replied Raven with excitement. Cute, that was the word which reminded Cristian something extremely important...
''Hey, Raven... when you answered me yes when I asked you to be my girlfriend, was that for real?'' asked Cristian a little nervously ''I mean, it could have been a lie just to have an excuse to kiss me, and then... bite me''.
''Nope, it wasn't'' replied Naitmer ''She actually started to have some feelings for you a year after she arrived, we couldn't have made your life a living hell if it wasn't for her, she insisted to test you, and so we did''.
''But... testing me? Why? I mean, if she really loved me...''
''Wait a minute, Cristian'' interrupted Raven ''I can't embrace someone just for love, it's a big mistake, the beloved one could just think you're a big monster, and also, it's a tradition of our clan to test someone, because our clan deserve just the best, the ones which can handle eternal life''.
''I see, so you thought I was worthless''
''No, Cristian, we had no idea if you were worthless or not, if we could have thought you were worthless, you would be dead by now'' said Raven.
They had been walking for a while since they left the apartment, none of them said a word since Raven talked until they saw a couple in a park close to Cristian's apartment.
''Ok, we found some morons, walking alone at this time, sheesh...'' said Raven sounding annoyed, though Cristian noticed she was grinning a little.
''So... I'm going to... bite them?'' asked Cristian, he just had realized he was going to murder an innocent.
''Well, that's not the best term, but yes, you're going to feed on one of them Cristian'' replied Naitmer.
''Awww, look how happy they are, let's show them the kingdom of our lord'' Raven said.
They started to walk towards the couple, they were staring at each other with concerned faces when they saw the three approach, apparently they have sensed some danger in them.
''Uhhh... can I help you?'' asked the man to Naitmer, whom was the tallest of the three.
''Well, my friend here and his girlfriend are looking for a hotel, they can't stay at my house you see... my parents won't allow them'' Naitmer replied with such politeness Cristian was a little shocked it was him talking.
''Oh well, there is one two streets from here, it has good service but it's expensive''
Raven was not putting attention to his speech she had been busy looking around for something... or someone.
''Great, no danger here Nait'' said Raven to Naitmer ''We shall proceed''
The man suddenly screamed, Raven had sank her teeth on his neck. The girl was standing there, with a shocked face as he saw Raven fed on her boyfriend.
Raven raised her head back to Cristian:
''What are you waiting for Cristian?''
Cristian did not answer in any way, he was too stunned after he saw Raven's feeding on that man.
''Cristian, I know it looks totally awful, but when you taste her vitae (with that I mean blood), you will think different'' Naitmer said to Cristian with a serious look on his face.
''Why me? Why can't you do it instead? You're the experienced one''
''Because I'm not hungry and you are, you're the one that really needs to feed, you must also know what awaits for you in your inmortal life''
Cristian turned to Raven, but when she nodded, he knew what to do next...
The girl was standing right there, she did not dare to move, apparently she was being mind controlled or was too scared to do anything, Cristian took a step towards her, and another, and another, each step faster than the other. Finally, she was face to face with her, he could have felt his heart beat fast if he wasn't dead, Cristian was closer to the neck.
And then it happened, the girl screamed, Cristian had felt his fangs work for the first time, he was drinking like never before, he was tasting one of the sweetest things ever, it revitalized him, it was going through all his body, he was enjoying it so much he didn't wanted it to end soon, it was even orgasmic.
He finally drank the last sip and had the girl completely empty, before he could do anything he just had noticed he felt more alive than before, prepared for anything that stands in his way.
''That... was... absolutely terrific, just like the finest of the wines... it regained my strength and I feel wonderful... it's scary... but I love it'' Cristian whispered to himself still holding the girl.
''I couldn't have explained it better'' Naitmer said, which made Cristian drop the girl's body unvoluntarily ''I told you, it makes you think different''.
''Why are you always right?'' asked Cristian while laughing a little bit.
''I have no idea, it's just that way'' replied Naitmer while glancing at his watch ''This took us more time, it's 3:00 AM, let's get back to your apartment, we'll find something to do there until it's morning''
''But doesn't the sunlight affects us?''
''Yes, it does Cristian, it hurts a bit, just make sure not to be under the sunlight a lot of time and you'll survive, it's not like we're going to be ashes at the first touch of sunlight'' said Raven
''I'm gonna ask both of you a question'' said Cristian ''How old are you?''
Raven and Naitmer seemed a little shocked, but still answered:
''313 years old, baby''
''And I am 92 years old'' Naitmer said
''Of course, you both seem to have a lot of experience, don't you?''
Naitmer and Raven just limited themselves to laugh as they walked back to Cristian's apartment...
''When morning arrives, I would like you to meet some of our friends, Cristian'' said Naitmer
''Friends? More vampires like us?'' asked Cristian
''Yeah, there's a lot of things we need to explain to you, you're new to this world...''
''Well, I'm 2 days old, you can't expect me to be the wise one...''
Again, Raven and Naitmer laughed...
